Aurora Stadium was buzzing last night as the SSATIS Netball Finals were being played.The 2^nd Grade Netball Final between MacKillop and Dominic was a nail-biter throughout the first half with both teams trading goals evenly. Dominic had a bit of slow start but soon lifted their game to end the first quarter trailing by just a single goal at 10–11, and that margin remained the same at half time with the score 19–20 in MacKillop’s favour.

But after half-time MacKillop pulled out all stops to stretch that narrow margin into a more significant 8 goal lead going into the final break with the score 31–23 in their favour, and in the fourth quarter Dominic just wasn’t able to claw that gap back.  The final score was MacKillop 38 to Dominic 33.

Well done to both teams for putting on such a fantastic game, a big thank you to officials, coaches and the supporters who came along the cheer for their school, and of course congratulations to the MacKillop team for their victory.

The standard was very high, the sportsmanship was impeccable, and it was obvious that players on both teams were really enjoying playing the match.
